Dinner in a bowl.
Built in five layers.
The Dinner Fork is a small collection of bowl dinners for American home kitchens. Every recipe is built from the same five layers — a base, a protein, a vegetable, a sauce and something crunchy — so once you can see the shape, you can improvise the rest forever.
Three bowls
Each card shows its five layers before you click. Swap any single layer and the bowl still works — that is rather the point of building them this way.
Crispy Tofu Peanut Noodle Bowl
Cold noodles, hot crisp tofu, and a peanut-lime sauce that comes together in a jar while the water boils.
Chipotle Chicken Rice Bowl
Smoky marinated chicken over lime rice with charred corn, black beans, and a cool crema on top.
Warm Farro and Squash Bowl
Roasted squash and chewy farro under a lemon tahini dressing, good warm and just as good cold the next day.
How this kitchen works
Tested twice, minimum
Every bowl is cooked, timed, and tasted at least twice on an ordinary home stove before it is published here.
Always the same five layers
Base, protein, vegetable, sauce, crunch. Learn the pattern once and you can build a bowl from whatever is in the fridge.
A swap for every layer
Each recipe lists an alternative for all five layers, so a missing ingredient never means a different dinner.
